"Memories of  Love On the Water"

Well, I grew up down South
In a small town
In an old pine house
That Andrew blew… to the ground

Being my daddies daughter
My memories of love… was on the water
We’d all go fishing down in the Florida Keys

My daddy he was stern
And by the switch we did learn
We would all stand in line….
To take our turn

And the fussin just about tore.. Our Ma apart
She sure had plenty to wear.. On her poor heart
Daddy loved all us kids
But, misbehaving he did forbid

Well, my mom loved playing her gospel music
You could hear clear to the lawn
And  rolled  biscuits at the break of dawn

And there nothing like my mama’s iced tea

Now, in the summertime we all loved.. To go fishing
Those Florida Keys are one thing that I’Ive been missing

We would all gather in the car
The keys they wont that far
Fishing underneath the moon and the stars

Yeah, My memories of love… was on the water

I remember it all very well
Thinking back yonder
My feelings about the water
Well, I often sit and wonder

But, I never thought of leaving South Florida

Well a lot of things have changed since way back then
Our old pine house is gone…. Blown with the wind…..
There was nothing left… but the floor
Than God took that and more…..

Except my memories of love on the water
