| I am a Southern bread Country Girl which was born in Northern Florida and grew up in South Florida. We grew up a simple family with little to complain about generally. I never knew luxuries of life until later in life, or at least what I thought the luxuries and lavish life styles were. When I think about my childhood, I do not feel that I ever wanted something that I could not have like other children. I remember being able to sew a pair a pants in 30 minutes before I had to go to school, if I did not have any thing to wear that day. School had its ups and downs, I was no scholar in any subject, except I loved math and competed in my early years. My family is from the North Carolina where I enjoy visiting whenever I can find the time. The Carolinas are famous for country BBQ and red hot dogs, which are nothing more than honey in my mouth at family reunions. Yet, Florida has given me the passion for coastal paradise. As my favorite past time in South Florida is a long afternoon on the salty ocean fishing with my family (back before all the fish were gone) now that doesn't happen much, I guess Florida got all fished out!. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, friend and nurse. I really love when family can get together on a regular biases for Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas (when they are not fighting). I enjoy cooking and making thing with my hands the old fashion way like bread, pizza, pasta, pies, biscuits, gravy, southern fried chicken, sauces, soups, stews, and all time favorites. When I have time, I like to draw and paint with oil on canvas. For special gifts I enjoy making a hand sewn dolls or quilts for family members and friends. When someone make me sad, I seem to want to write them poetry or songs to express myself to them and to offer comfort or wisdom as it my be. People ask me why are you doing this now? Singing and stuff? Why didn't you do this in your younger years? You can't sing! Well, what should I say? If you are looking for Barbie, she is not here! If you are looking for a great vocalist, she is not here either. But, if your are looking for passion, I got some of that stuff, and more...., if you are looking for a great company, I love to entertain guests, if you want to sit down and do songwriting!!! Now we are talking.. I love that stuff... That is the good stuff and they don't sell it on any corner! |
